No J-Walking in Downtown Fullerton

Just wanted to let everyone know that they should avoid j-walking in DTF. Their several cops whos job it is to sit on their ass and look for people cutting corners. The ticket is $255, thats right, $255 for j-walking. Must be a big money maker for the city.

Golf in Downtown Fullerton

It is not very well known that there is a full 18-hole golf course just up the hill on Harbor Blvd. Its on the right side after you pass St Jude Hospital. Fullerton Golf Course isn't the nicest course in OC and it is a par 68, but the price is right. You can often find deals for around $20 including cart. Sign up for their e-mial blasts or go to www.golfnow.com to get the best deales. I reccomend a cart because there are quite a few hills on the course and you can get tired quickly in the summer heat. I also reccomend bringing a lot of balls because there is a creek that runs the length of the entire course.

Titans Baseball Tonight vs UCLA - 6pm

If your looking for something to do tonight, head over to Goodwin Field on the CSUF campus for the Titans vs. Bruins baseball game. Tickets are under $20 and its free for students. They rarely sell out, which is a shame because we have one of the best college baseball teams in the History of NCAA baseball. Year after year the Titans are nationally ranked and this year is no exception. The problem is UCLA is also nationally ranked, should be a good game.

Fulleton Museum X Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

There is a pretty cool exhibit showing right now at the Fullerton Museum Center (301 N. Pomona Ave.). Its called Technicolor Dreaming: Psychadelic Posters from The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Take a break from your daily drinking schedule and head over to the museum to impress your girl (or guy) with your eclectic taste. They also have a year round exibit of historic Fender Guitars. They even have one guitar pulgged in so you can attempt to play "stariway to heaven".

Farmers Market & Beer Garden

All summer long the city of Fullerton hosts a really cool farmers market. You can take your kids and your dog to this outdoor event. There are vendors set up selling all the stuff you would expect from a farmers market, veggies, fruit, nuts, flowers, and jerky to name a few. They also have hot food vendors selling everything roasted corn to tri-tip sandwiches. There a few jeweler, craft, anc clothing vendors selling product. The biggest hit is the beer garden, there is something great about drinkin beer in the sun. The line might look long but it moves fast. Also, they usually have a band playing which is a nice touch. It is every thursday from 4-8:30 during daylight savings time. Located on Wilshire just east of Harbor, see you there.

Unauthorized Bar Review - Bourbon Street

Bourbon Street has a pretty cool 80's night going on Wednesdays. They hav a $5 Big Ass Beer special too. You pay $10 for your first beer in a very large take-home cup and it is only $5 for re-fills, any beer on tap. The DJ plays a mix of 80's and early 90's hip-hop, rock, funk, etc. I can remember hearing Kool Moe D, Madonna, Beastie Boys, Bobby Brown, and many others with some classic rock songs thrown in for good measure. There isn't a huge crowd, but it is enough to have a good time and the bro/bra ratio is good. I would have to say that Bourbon Street is the best place to go on Wed nights in DTF.

Bourbon Street is basically on the corner of Harbor and Commonwealth on the southeast side.

Taco Tuesday

Downtown Fullerton has no shortage of good bar specials on Tuesday nights. A couple places even have $1 tacos. Taco Tuesday has been around a long time, but it started in Fullerton with Rockin Taco Cantina. Tuesdays at Rockin Taco were quite the specticale, with long lines, dance floor, DJ, taco carts, and tough guy bouncers. You had to get there early and there was never a shortage of people ready to party. The key to this whole promotion was the $2 coronas. Well, about a year ago Rockin Taco got their liquor liscense pulled because underage girls were getting into their bar. Now The Matador has taken over and they still offer the $2 coronas. I can't say how the crowd is there because I haven't been there on a Tuesday since the change, but it is probably still a great time. Other bars in the area hav also adopted the $2 Corona and you can now get drunk for less than $20 at several places including Revolucion and Back Alley. One thing is for sure, if you are in Downtown Fullerton on a Tuesday and the bar you at doesn't have a $2 promotion, you better go to a different bar.
